Lagoon Diving Services has been in business, in St. Maarten, for the past 10 years. The company was started by Canadian, John Gifford. In response to market demand, John started a small commercial diving company, servicing yachts and marinas in St. Maarten and the surrounding area. He expanded steadily and evolved into a full service salvage, towing and commercial diving operation.
In 2004, while continuing to develop the existing business, John began to explore the prospects of expanding into the marine construction industry. After spending 2 years researching and training with other construction companies, in 2006, Lagoon Diving Services became AMCON Lagoon Diving Services and officially became a marine construction and commercial diving business.
The natural crossover between commercial diving and marine construction has proven to be a successful blend. Marine construction is now a significant component of AMCON's annual turnover.
Our employees are our most important asset. We have one of the most experienced teams of marine pile driving specialists in the region. Our team of commercial divers covers a diverse range of underwater specialties, from barnacle-scraping to underwater welding & fabrication.
